Applications for the MedStAR 2024 academic year are now closed. Please check back in October 2024 to apply for our 2025 summer class.
University of Washington first year medical students from all UWSOM foundation sites are welcome to apply. Please note that participation in MedStAR is contingent upon acceptance/ability to participate in III Scholarship of Discovery and being eligible for federal grants. Students doing RUOP are ineligible for MedStAR.
All students will be required to submit the following information as part of their MedStAR application:
- Online MedStAR Student Application
- Statement of Interest (400 words or less)
- Curriculum Vita (CV)/Resume
Applicants may be be invited to meet with a program faculty member to discuss the applicant’s future career and research interests to determine whether the student fits the program and their interests align with the mentors and projects.
Students will be notified of program acceptance, mentoring team and proposed project in November.
