Diversity and Inclusion

A goal of the MedStAR training program is to ensure the program is built upon respect for diversity and promotion of equitable opportunities for a more inclusive field of addiction medicine research and clinical care in urban and rural settings. Our program is open to any first year UW medical student from any WWAMI Foundation site interested in receiving long-term guided mentorship and gaining knowledge, both clinically and scholarly, to ethically conduct research with diverse and underserved communities with the intent to improve the health and lives of patients affected by substance use disorders.
