What do I need to get started with using vENC?

Getting started is simple, download the vENC app to your mobile phone and follow the instructions to install. Request an access code from your instructor if using the research/QI version of vENC. Then open the vENC app and begin with the Tutorial.

Does it cost anything to use vENC?

Learners can use vENC for free.

What is a vENC level?

Each vENC level represents a complete scenario in which you are a health professional caring for a mother who will deliver a baby to which you will provide resuscitation (if needed), care and/or referral for danger signs. The scenario starts with greeting the mother and preparing for delivery. It ends with discharging the baby home with the mother or referral for advanced care.

What is the passing score to unlock additional levels?

The passing score for each vENC level is 70%

How can I improve my score?

The score is calculated based on correct actions, incorrect actions (negative marking) and hints (negative marking). If you perform the actions required to complete the scenario correctly without hints or mistakes, you will receive a perfect score.

What is the reward for a high score?

Unlocking rewards means that there may be a special object or image added to the room as a reward for good performance.

What score is needed to unlock a reward?

A score of 100% is needed to unlock a reward.

What if vENC does not work on my mobile phone?

vENC may not work on all mobile phones. You may try using vENC on your tablet device.

I work with a healthcare facility. How can we get access to vENC for our team?

Getting started is simple, download the vENC app to personal or shared facility devices and follow the instructions to install. Send an email to virtualenc@uw.edu to request access codes for your learners.

Does this application provide continuing education credits?

We are establishing partnerships to provide recognized certificates for completing vENC simulation practice. Official continuing education credits are not available at this time.
