Fang Jiang is Associate Professor at University of Nevada, Reno. Her research examines relationship between brain structure and function/behaviors and the mechanisms underlying such relationship, with a particular emphasis on functional relevance of cross-modal responses consequent on sensory deprivation. Alex Kale is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Chicago. He creates and evaluate tools for helping people think with data, specializing in how data visualization can be used to support value judgments and reasoning with uncertainty. He leads the University of Chicago’s Data Cognition Lab, where they build analysis software that enables users to externalize their thinking when grappling with data-driven judgments.
