VisCog Wiki

Welcome to the VisCog group at the University of Washington. We study the cortical basis of sensory function in both normal and atypical individuals. We’re members of the Center of Human Neuroscience – a broad community of human neuroscience researchers at UW.

We consist of four faculty members: Geoffrey BoyntonIone Fine, Ariel Rokem, and Scott Murray.

We’re a collaborative group of faculty, postdocs, graduate students and undergraduates. Each student and postdoc in VisCog group has one primary faculty advisor, but enjoys the collaborative atmosphere of the entire research group. This includes shared laboratory space, joint lab meetings, shared equipment such as eye-tracking equipment, and testing rooms for psychophysics.

Our work relies on multiple methodologies, including behavioral measurements, magnetic resonance imaging and EEG, and we generally try to use computational methods to tie it all together with a nice little equation that’s not too complicated.
