(Updated 09/2021, current as of 02/2022)

Our current license does not work for newer versions of Brain Voyager. We should install 20.06. Once you access the remote desktop through FastX:

1. Go to your home folder

2. Install BV by typing in: /sysadmin/install_scripts/debian10-init/sources/BV/bv_v20.6_lnx64_u14.04_installer.run

3. Accept all default options during installation. Don’t start BV at the end of the installation.

4. Go to the BrainVoyager folder from your home directory (cd BrainVoyager)

5. Run: ./AccessLicenseServer.sh

6. Server IP Address: 10.155.175.123 / Server port: 22333 / check Request network license

(Instructions prior to 09/2021)

After you have accessed the remote desktop through Fastx https://viscog.ibic.washington.edu:3443 you can use the following steps to access Brain Voyager on VisCog.

1. Ask Karl to place an install file in your Downloads folder ~/Downloads

2. Run the installer from the terminal: >cd Downloads >./bv_ [tab complete the name of the installer file] {{:internal:internal_viscog:bvpicture1.png?200|}}

3. Agree to all the defaults to install.

4. Once complete do not run the pop up box that appears.

5. Back in the terminal change directory back to your home: >cd ~

6. Then move to the new Brain Voyager directory: >cd BrainVoyager

7. Then type the following command (This step is perhaps temporary as BV people work around a new issue): >./AccessLicenseServer

8. Use the ip: 10.155.175.123 (Do not use the old 128.95.48.127 address any longer)
