Smart Medical Devices Lab (SMDL)

Teaching

Of my many teaching activities at UW Bothell, I have been particularly active in developing the dynamics, control, and mechatronics course series. An engineering professor is a provider not only of information, but also of inspiration. My teaching is based on the belief that real learning in engineering comes from the inspired student’s own will and effort, toward both solving problems and internalizing the information taught in class. I view my role as that of a facilitator and mentor who stimulates and nurtures the students’ development, giving support in the form of knowledge, techniques, and encouragement.
