The Association of Professional Advisers and Counselors (APAC) was formed in 1976. APAC is a community-driven organization for advisers and counselors at the University of Washington.
APAC supports the engagement and development of the advising and counseling community by:
-
offering opportunities for networking
-
connecting with professional events and resources
-
sharing best practices
-
funding scholarships to support adviser professional development
-
advocating for advisers and our profession
-
recognizing exceptional performance in our community
Members include academic advisers (undergraduate and graduate), career and admissions counselors, program coordinators, and other student affairs professionals from all three UW campuses.
“Advising cannot be done in isolation. This process must be integrated among all constituents of the institution.” ~ Thomas Grites
