In Memory of Eddy Fischer

Unveiling the Fischer Memorial Mural

The department recently commissioned a memorial display for Eddy in the department.  The display features a mural with photographs from throughout Eddy’s life and a replica of his Nobel medallion, graciously donated by the Fischer Family.  Backing the display is wallpaper featuring a representation of the structure of the protein known as glycogen phosphorylase.  On May 24 we revealed the design to a small gathering of department members with a toast in Eddy’s honor.
