I am currently in the third year of my undergraduate degree at UW Seattle, studying Biochemistry and Nutrition. In the Ratner lab, I work on a team that aims to develop a polymer to be used in pancreatic surgery to reduce the risk of post-operative complications. My time as a Teaching Assistant in the UW Department of Chemistry sparked my interest in bioorganic chemistry. Apart from biomaterial development, my other research interests include: metabolism, drug delivery, and HIV immunology. I plan to attend medical school after I have finished my undergraduate education. My goal is to continue to be involved in research throughout my post-undergraduate academic endeavors. Outside of my coursework and research, I work as a health scholar at Swedish Medical Center and volunteer at the Husky Food Pantry. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with friends and family.
