I am a Graduate Student working on the development of non-fouling and lubricated polymer coatings for orthopedic implants. I am primarily interested in surface modification and characterization techniques for reducing non-specific protein adsorption on commercially available materials, with the goal of enhancing their overall biocompatibility and suitability for orthopedic implants. After obtaining a BS in chemical engineering, I joined Cornell University for a Master’s. At Cornell, I worked extensively on nano-fabrication techniques for energy storage materials and surface coatings. My Master’s research motivated an interest in more applied studies of surface modification techniques, leading to my current role at UW. I ultimately intend to leverage my research skills and experience in a translational research role in industry. Outside of work, I enjoy baking and exploring the Seattle coffee scene.
