Dr Chi Zhang received a new NIH/K99 award titled “Wiring specificity and plasticity of rod and cone photoreceptor circuits”. One potential strategy to restore daylight vision in retinal repair is to transform rods into cone photoreceptors.
Dr. Zhang has been awarded this Fellowship to study the circuitry and function of retinal neurons connected to photoreceptors with transformed identity.
