The BioStr DEI Committee holds events throughout the year to foster discussion and inclusivity within the Department. These include bimonthly peer-led workshops, which typically occur on the third Wednesday of the month between 12:30 and 2 PM.
In addition, the DEI Committee hosts monthly learning group sessions (formerly called Book Club) to discuss DEI-related books, podcasts, and other media. Learning group meetings typically occur on the first Wednesday of the month between 12:30 and 2 PM. Please consult the events calendar below since the timing of these events is subject to change.
The DEI Committee also meets once a month to discuss progress on our initiatives and plan next steps. These meetings usually occur on the second Wednesday of the month from 10-11 AM and are open to all members of the Department. Meeting minutes can be accessed via the DEI Committee Teams page. We strive to be transparent about our activities and welcome feedback from department members on progress towards our mission.
