DEI Committee

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION COMMITTEE

Our committee strives to create an environment that fosters equity and inclusion, so that the Department is welcoming and accessible to all.  We work to identify and remove barriers that preclude recruitment and/or retention of diverse graduate students, postdocs, research scientists, departmental staff and faculty.

Our goals are to:

• Foster discussion and solicit input from trainees, staff and faculty
• Provide a forum for activities that further our understanding in all areas including research, teaching, department life, community service
• Help develop, communicate, and implement policies that promote equity and inclusion

Achieving these aims is critical for our Department to reach its highest potential for advancing research in the biomedical sciences.
