Lori Zoellner, Ph.D. (she/her/hers)
Lori A. Zoellner, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Washington and Director of the University of Washington Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress (UWCATS). Both her research and her clinical experience focus on facilitating resilience and recovery after trauma exposure, with particular expertise in understanding underlying mechanisms of recovery and intervention development. She is well recognized in the field of traumatic stress studies, including having served on the Board of Directors of the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies. Dr. Zoellner has written and published extensively on posttraumatic stress disorder. She is a U.S. National Institute of Mental Health federally-funded researcher and has given many workshops for practitioners on the prevention and treatment of PTSD.
Shannon Dorsey, Ph.D. (she/her/hers)
Shannon Dorsey, Ph.D., is a Professor in Psychology at the University of Washington and a licensed clinical psychologist. She is Adjunct Professor in Global Health and in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Her clinical expertise is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and children, adolescents, and families. Within this area, she specializes in treatment of trauma-related mental health impact and in empowering caregivers to support their children who are experiencing behavioral challenges, anxiety, and trauma-related impact. Her research has focused on engaging foster parents in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and adolescents involved in child welfare. It has also focused on partnering with communities to adapt Cognitive Behavioral Treatments for diverse cultural and contextual settings. Dr. Dorsey also directs a National Institute of Mental Health-funded Center, housed at UW and Kaiser Permanente focused on optimizing treatment for children and adolescents in under-resourced settings (e.g., community mental health, schools).
Angela Fang, Ph.D. (she/her/hers)
Angela Fang, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and the Graduate Program in Neuroscience. She directs a research lab, teaches courses in clinical psychology, and conducts clinical activities as a licensed clinical psychologist, such as clinical supervision for students in the CALM practicum and independent private practice. Her clinical expertise is in cognitive behavioral treatment of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive related disorders in adolescents and adults. In particular, she has worked closely with individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder and body dysmorphic disorder since 2007 in both inpatient and outpatient settings to better understand their thought patterns and core fears, and develop more effective treatments. Prior to coming to UW, she was a staff psychologist at the Center for OCD and Related Disorders at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she taught and supervised psychology trainees in cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based interventions.
