Cardno is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in our Seattle, WA office, to work as part of an interdisciplinary team of world class scientists and engineers to provide cutting-edge consultation in river and watershed restoration, salmon and wetland habitat restoration, hazard assessment, flood and erosion protection, and stream crossing design for roads and pipelines.

They have 2 job openings now in their rivers and estuaries restoration group:  (1)  Senior Project Engineer, PE required, 7 to 12 years experience (2)  Project Engineer or Senior Staff Engineer, EIT required, 0 to 5 years experience, entry-level.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Working closely with Project Managers and/or Engineers in Seattle, Anchorage, Boise, Concord, Tahoe, and Sacramento offices
> Project and Task Management including scope and budget work
> Working on river engineering, habitat restoration, and other water resource projects
> Conducting field work, topographic surveying, and construction observation
> Assisting with business development and proposal efforts
> Mentoring staff
> Providing professional engineering planning and design for water resource management and restoration projects in the Eastern U.S., and potentially other area of the U.S. and internationally
> Establishing and increasing corporate business opportunities in the Northwest Regions with respect to stream and wetland restoration projects, stormwater BMPs, and watershed mitigation projects including assessment, design, construction oversight, and mitigation site monitoring
> Providing expertise, leadership, business/client development and mentoring in water resource engineering, with emphasis on stream and wetland mitigation, creation and restoration efforts

Qualifications: 

> B.S. degree in civil engineering, M.S. degree preferred
> 5 – 7 plus years of relevant professional experience in civil design
> Experience with fluvial systems, hydrology, hydraulics, structure design, and completing plans, specifications (CSI and others), cost estimates, and proficiency in CADD, GIS, and survey equipment
> Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D with the ability to develop full engineering construction documents with little or no supervision, and able to assist staff in program capabilities and guidance in using the civil design programs
> Must be able to perform and/or supervise the following tasks within the above programs: general design drafting; sheet layout/setup (both for drawing and project); layer management; develop surfaces; develop profiles and cross sections and perform quantity calculations (cuts and fills), cost estimates, specification writing, HEC-RAS Hydraulic Modeling
> Ability to travel periodically to field sites and other Cardno offices throughout the U.S. working with public and private clients to develop sustainable solutions
> Excellent oral and written communication skills
> Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
> Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
> Stream and wetland restoration design experience
> Storm water BMP design experience
> Strong seller/doer with sales and business development experience
> Demonstrated project management experience
