Responsibilities:

  • Design all phases of transportation projects in partnership with other engineers.
  • A Senior Transportation Engineer (P.E.) will provide technical oversight regarding design direction and adapt or modify design techniques to solve problems.
  • Support coordination of existing public agency clients and relationships.
  • Analyze engineering data, interpret plans and specifications, and make recommendations regarding issue.
  • Create and partner with other engineers for provision of Plans, Specifications and Estimates as well as prepare various technical reports and CADD services for predominantly public agency transportation projects.
  • Attend public meetings, public forums and open houses to discuss project details, answer questions from the public, discuss concerns/objections, etc.
  • Attend city council and Planning and Zoning commission meetings for public clients, as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of direct Transportation experience is preferred.
  • Self-motivated Engineer Interns, enrolled in a bachelors program, and interested in transportation engineering and planning, specifically roadway, bridge, and traffic design may apply. A minimum of transportation design and/or planning coursework is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill for technical and non-technical related work.
  • MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience is required for the P.E. position and desired for the E.I. and willing to use both platforms to serve our client’s needs.
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal, state and local laws when applying engineering principles and practices and use sound judgment to make design decisions and innovatively solve design concerns.
  • Ability to perform engineering tasks and maintain project schedule deadlines.
  • Bachelor degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Certification as Engineer Intern (E.I.) (passed NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure is required.
