This summer program in Perth, Australia, gives you an opportunity to earn 8 weeks (July
4 – August 26, 2016) of intensive research training while gaining knowledge and first-hand experience with Australian culture.
Selected students will participate in research projects under the guidance of engineering and science research leaders at the University of Western Australia alongside postgraduate students. Day trips to the Trigg, Kings Park and Caversham Wildlife Park will be provided, and students can opt to take weekend visits to local sites such as Rottnest Island, the Pinnacles, and Fremantle.

- Eligibility: This program is open to current junior undergraduate students studying science and engineering at the University of Washington. Students should demonstrate high academic achievement and have some laboratory or research experience.
- Credits: Students will be eligible to receive 12 UW credits for their research. Check with your academic adviser to know if you will be able to receive departmental credit for this program.
- Program Fee: $5,200. This includes research training, study skills training sessions, welcome and farewell events, housing and some meals, and a day trip to Kings Park, Trigg, and Caversham Wildlife Park. UW financial aid and scholarship will apply. Additional expenses may include airfare, passport/visa costs, meals not covered by program fee, international health insurance, local transportation fees, and personal expenses.
