Jacobs in Bellevue has an opportunity for a Civil/Environmental Engineer EIT (Water/Wastewater). In this role, the Civil EIT will assist Engineers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments, relating to wastewater collection and transmission, surface water drainage and conveyance, water supply and distribution, and other water-related topics.
Job duties will include:
- Performs civil design calculations for sketches, technical evaluations and similar technical work for a variety of projects, as required by assignment.
- Assists with complex utility design and relocations associated with regional transportation projects.
- Assists with complex drainage and stormwater elements associated with regional transportation projects.
- Perform hydraulic design and calculations.
- Researches design options and documents findings. Develop design alternatives and provide supporting documents with figures.
- Assist in production of contract plans and specifications.
- Assist in preparation of cost estimates.
- Ability to discover and research code issues/requirements and provide solutions for review by City, State, and County officials.
- Coordinate project assignments and deadlines with other engineers and project managers.
- Ability to work well within a multi-discipline team environment
- May attend client review meetings, and interact with clients as his or her level of experience progresses.
- Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering is required.
- Master’s Degree in Civil and /or Environmental Engineering with a focus on water is preferred. EIT certificate is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive water/wastewater/stormwater infrastructure design experience is required, including experience with utility infrastructure design and experience with stormwater design.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
- Experience with GIS software is preferred.
- Experience with water related computer-based models is preferred.
- Possess time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all staff levels in a professional manner.
