Transportation Internship Opportunity – Concord Engineering

Concord Engineering is looking for two transportation engineering interns, preferably grad students – read below for the job description and application information:

Concord Engineering is a rapidly growing full-service transportation engineering consulting firm with offices in downtown Seattle and Bellevue. We are currently seeking highly motivated part-time interns to join our dynamic teams in both Seattle and Bellevue.

In this role, you will be part of a locally well-recognized and growing team of professionals and gain valuable work experience in a variety of transportation engineering, planning, operations and ITS projects, many of regional significance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the planning/designing of traffic signals, roadway signing/striping, ITS and other transportation elements.
  • Illumination analysis and design for roadway and parking facilities.
  • Assisting in the development of transportation operations and simulation models.
  • Performing other qualitative, technical and analytical tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or similar field; Master students with a focus in Transportation Engineering strongly preferred.
  • Experience with industry software (GIS/CAD, Synchro, Vissim) a plus.
  • Willing and able to work approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent projects and tasks.
  • An attitude and commitment to providing our clients with excellent customer service.
