Internship Opportunity: SDOT Project Delivery Intern (Engineering)
Dear Students,
My team over at the Seattle Department of Transportation are looking for 3 interns interested in design and construction management! This internship includes surveying, using AutoCAD to create plans for crews to use for installation, and managing the construction of the project. Our team works on small/medium multi-modal projects (bicycle/pedestrian/transit) such as Safe Routes to Schools, Vision Zero, Neighborhood Greenways, and many more!
As someone who was an intern for this group prior to graduation, this internship was great because you’re able to get first-hand experience on designing, working/coordinating with crews/contractors, and seeing what you designed be built in the streets of Seattle!
This opportunity is open to both Undergraduate and Graduate Students.

Civil Engineering Internship at the City of Renton
Hello,
The City of Renton is offering an engineering internship for one year, full-time during summer and part-time during school to Civil/Environmental engineering students going into their senior year or graduate year. This internship will be primarily with the Surface Water Engineering section in the City. The intern will assist Surface Water engineers with managing construction on ongoing projects, and perform analyses in support of efforts to map drainage areas for existing stormwater facilities.

2024 Summer Paid Internship Opportunity: Work with a NOAA Scientist and Learn to Integrate Mathematics and Fisheries Science

Summer Internship Opportunity: Work with a NOAA Scientist and Learn to Integrate Mathematics and Fisheries Science
The Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) and the University of Washington request applications for students in the Mathematical Sciences for a summer internship at the NWFSC. Interns will spend summer (~16 June – 15 September) working on a research project that integrates mathematics with the science that informs fishery managers. A stipend of $6,000 will be provided from the Usha and S. Rao Varanasi SAFS Faculty Endowment for Student Support, the NWFSC, and the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences (SAFS). The successful applicant will also be provided with office space at the NWFSC or SAFS and a NWFSC mentor.
Although any projects related to sustainable management of west coast fish resources would be considered, the following projects are already available and NWFSC mentors identified:
- Impacts of marine heat waves on primary productivity in the California Current (NWFSC Mentors: Eric Ward, Stephanie Moore, Jens M. Nielsen, and Brian Burke)
- Modelling species composition of landings to estimate species-specific landings from mixed-species landings (NWFSC Mentors: Kelli Johnson and Chantel Wetzel)
- Study of coastal upwelling dynamics in the Indian Ocean using machine-learning and remote-sensing data (NWFSC Mentor: Eli Holmes).
- Utilizing spatial analysis tools to better characterize the overlap in space and time among juvenile salmon, their prey and predators (NWFSC Mentors: Lisa Crozier and Brian Burke)
