Career Center @ Engineering: Ways They Are Here For You

Here are some ways Career Center @ Engineering will be working to support you during the coming weeks:

  1. VIRTUAL/PHONE APPOINTMENTS: They will continue to provide career coaching appointments through Zoom/phone between 9am-4pm (Mon-Fri) AND 4-8pm (Tue/Wed). From freshmen to Ph.Ds, several students engaged with CC@E last week regarding resume updates, mock interviews, and general search strategies, so please feel free to schedule an appointment through Handshake.
  2. COVER LETTER & RESUME REVIEWS: In lieu of walk-in hours, CC@E will be expanding their capability to offer feedback on cover letters & resumes within 24 hours; students may e-mail those materials to ENGRHIRE@uw.edu for review.
  3. ON-DEMAND CONTENT & ONLINE WORKSHOPS: All of the UW career services offices are coordinating to share content & services in this complicated time. Keep an eye on Handshake over the next couple weeks for various events where you can interact live with presenters on various topics. Also, check the “Resources” section of your Handshake account, or peruse external products like Candid Career or Vault Guides.
  4. EMPLOYER OUTREACH: Recruiting (without an on-campus presence) for many companies still continues at different paces. For those looking for internships & full-time work, we will be proactively reaching out to employers and recruiters with resume books. If you haven’t done so lately, now’s a great chance to update your resume, portfolio, and LinkedIn profile.
  5. EMPLOYER INFO SESSIONS: CC@E is actively working with employers on setting up virtual info sessions and career fairs; they will keep you posted when such events are finalized.

Please contact ENGRHIRE@uw.edu if you have any questions, and know that CC@ is available to help you through this unprecedented period.
