A message from the advising team:
Now that most of you are registered for WIN21, we wanted provide some reminders and address a few common questions we’ve received over the last week:
1. Refresh and check your degree audit to ensure that your WIN21 courses are populating correctly.
2. S/NS Grading Option
- You will have the option to change your grade to S/NS for AUT20 after the Nov 17th deadline since AUT20 has been designated as an “Extraordinary Circumstances Quarter.”
- Information on this process and policy can be found at this link. Look for the heading “Extraordinary Circumstances Quarter S/NS-Numeric Grading Change Request.”
3. Additional Writing Requirement
- Information on how to satisfy your additional writing requirement can be found on our CEE Student News Blog here. If you are trying to create a “W by arrangement,” we recommend trying to contact an instructor prior to the beginning of the quarter (For WIN21, it would be a good idea to connect now).
4. STAT 311 approved for statistics (Need to petition)
5. Additional Science Requirement
- On your degree audit, you will see an additional science sub requirement list located under your Upper Division Engineering & Science Requirement. When you take one of these courses, it will satisfy this sub requirement and the credits will apply to your UD E&S Electives. However, if you have taken a different science course (100, 200 or 300 level) from one of these departments (ESS, ESRM, BIOL, GEOG, OCEAN, etc.), you may be able to petition it to satisfy the additional science requirement and possibly the UD E&S Electives as well. If you think this might apply to you, please send the course syllabus and description to ceadvice@uw.edu and we can take a look.
