Dear University of Washington students,
The University recognizes the impact these extraordinary times are having on students. As mentioned previously, Satisfactory (S) grades for Winter 2021 will count toward undergraduate and graduate degree and graduation requirements. Students may request to change Winter 2021 courses to and from the Satisfactory/Non-Satisfactory (S/NS) grading option until the time their degree is awarded. |

S/NS Grading for Winter 2021 | ||
Winter 2021 has been designated an Extraordinary Circumstances Quarter. There is no limit to the number of Winter 2021 credits that may have S/NS grading. The minimum numeric grade to receive an S is 2.0 for undergraduates and 2.7 for graduates.
To request a late change to or from S/NS for Winter 2021, select the form link for your campus. We recommend that you review the Extraordinary Circumstances Quarter S/NS Policy web pagebefore making any changes. Graduate students should notify their Graduate Program Adviser before requesting changes. Yo do not need to notify your instructors or provide supporting materials. Your campus registrar team will change the grading option based on your request. Winter 2021 graduating seniors and graduating graduate students have until April 9 to request the change. Professional Students Professional students should check with their respective school registrar for details on S/NS grading to see if their program is participating in this process. |

We hope this helps you navigate these challenging times while still advancing towards your degree. If you have questions, check our Extraordinary Circumstances Quarter S/NS Policy FAQ and write to us if you can’t find an answer. |
