THE BEAVERS – A HEAVY ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATION

STUDENT DAY

Host Contractor:  Stacy and Witbeck, Kiewit Construction, Hoffman Construction, a joint venture.

The Beavers host a Student Day each year for 75 to 100 civil engineering and construction management students and faculty members, from colleges and universities where The Beavers provide academic scholarships. The day begins with a briefing of the work we will see. The students will then embark on a site tour, escorted by members of The Beavers that are executives in the construction industry. After, everyone will return to the briefing point to enjoy lunch and discuss the project.

Personal Protective Equipment: All students and faculty are expected to arrive on site with long pants and construction work boots. Please bring your safety vests and hard hats if possible. The beavers will have a limited supply of safety vests and hard hats. Protective glasses and gloves will be provided.

Lynwood Link Light Rail Extension (L200 Segment) Shoreline, Washington

The Lynwood Link Extension (L200 segment) is an $850 million construction project for Sound Transit. Work includes two miles of aerial guideway over four bridge structures, three miles of at-grade guideway, two stations, and two associated parking garages. Construction is scheduled to be completed Summer of 2023 with passenger service in 2024.
