CEE Ugrad Weekly: CEE Career Fair, Graduation Reminders, Leadership/Mentorship Opportunity with COE

CEE Undergraduate Weekly (1.12.2022)

Hello CEE Majors – We hope you are feeling settled into winter quarter.  As always, we are here for you if you want to discuss your academic plan/degree requirements, talk about how to get involved outside of the classroom, discuss academic successes or difficulties, or simply just to say hello/meet your advisers.  In addition, here are some important reminders and notices we’d like you to take a look at:

Career Fair Prep

  • The 16th Annual CEE Career Fair is taking place on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1-4pm.
  • We will be sending out prep and detailed registration info soon (Student registration will begin on Th, 1/20) but the UW Career & Internship Center has a number of workshops that can help you prepare.
  • We recommend that you touch base with your instructors if you have a synchronous class that might conflict with the CEE Career Fair. Your CEE Faculty/Instructors have been notified of the potential for class conflicts but letting them know directly once you have your appointments scheduled is recommended.
  • I’ve also included a list of registered companies at the bottom of this email for your reference.

All Students: Registration Reminders & Tracking your path to Graduation:

  • Refresh your degree audit: Now that your WIN22 schedule is set, make sure to refresh your degree audit. If there is anything that looks off, or you have questions, you can email ceadvice@uw.edu or see an adviser.
  • If you are planning to finish your degree requirements in WIN22, SPR22 or SUM22, and have not applied to graduate, please email ceadvice@uw.edu so we can start this process. (If you have applied to graduate, you will see your graduation date listed at the top of your DARS)

College of Engineering Leadership Opportunity

The College of Engineering’s Emerging Leaders in Engineering program consists of three sub-programs: Engineering Ambassadors (EAs), Engineering Design Coaches (EDCs), and Engineering Peer Educators (EPEs). These positions are a fantastic opportunity for current engineering undergraduates to gain valuable leadership experience while supporting current and prospective engineering students! If you’re interested in becoming an EA, EDC, and/or EPE, you can now apply through one central application by indicating your interest in one or more programs. Indicating more than one position will not impact your chances of being selected for your first preference. You are also welcome to apply to a single program!

(The deadline to apply in Sun, Jan 16th)
