APWA Speaker Event: Water in Western Washington (4/20 @ 4:30 in HUB 334)

Greetings all!

Hopefully Spring Quarter has been going well so far. APWA is hosting two speakers from King County next Wednesday (4/20) at the HUB (room 334) from 4:30 to 6:00pm. This will be a great experience to learn more about careers in water as well as about new technologies.

Our two speakers will be Bob Bucher from Brightwater Wastewater Treatment facility and he’ll be going over the challenges of operating a wastewater facility in an urban environment while minimizing community impact.  Lauren Urgenson, the Technical Coordinator for the Lake Washington Watershed, will be discussing how the Locks impacts fish populations and the challenges of bridging two bodies of water.

Please fill out the following form as we’d appreciate a headcount for providing free refreshments:

Due to University policy we do encourage masks while in attendance, if you feel any symptoms of COVID or other illness please refrain from attending and we wish you a speedy recovery.

We look forward to seeing everyone and hope you’re able to attend.
