Hi everyone,
I have fully processed the end-of-year survey for 2022 and would like to thank everyone who took the survey. Lots of great actionable information in there. I really appreciate everyone who did taking the time to fill out the survey with meaningful comments. Very, very helpful.
Some findings to pique your interest:
- Overall participation rate was 77%
- The BSCE degree is roughly 1/3 female-identity students and 2/3 male-identity students
- The BSENVE degree is roughly 3/4 female-identity students and 1/4 male-identity students
- Civil/Environmental Engineering internships in 2022 have (finally) surpassed pre-COVID levels (2019)
- Half the jobs and half the internships are in the construction field (either working for an owner managing construction, a contractor, or a construction management firm)
- About 2/3 of students like hybrid courses
- About ¼ of students come from Community Colleges
- Students want a computer lab upgrade
- Student want to be scheduled in acceptable classrooms, preferably in More Hall (duh)
- 66% of graduating seniors have had an engineering internship
- 76% of graduating seniors plan on working after graduation (24% to grad school, and, of these, 2/3 are going to UW)
There’s much more in the report if you care to look. Again, thanks to everyone that participated.
Aloha,
Steve Muench (he/him)
