Student Presenters Needed for SEAW Student Showcase

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to announce that the SEAW (Structural Engineers Association of Washington) UW Chapter is hosting the SEAW Student Showcase at 5:30 PM on January 25th at the Waterfront Great Room. This is an annual event in which representatives from local structural engineering firms and construction vendors come together to dine, network, and enjoy presentations from students on the latest developments in structural engineering mechanics and research. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet professionals in structural engineering from all across the Puget Sound. Attendance is usually very high, and we’re looking to host about 50 employees from at least 6 companies including Dewalt, Verco, AUE, MKA, DCI, KPFF and more.

We are in need of 2 student presenters who are interested in giving a ~15-minute presentation on research they have done recently or are currently engaged in. Presenters can be graduate or undergraduate students – anyone with research experience. This is your chance to make an impression on several employers at once. Many presenters in past years have been recruited and given offers upon graduation.

If you’re not interested in presenting, we’d still love to have you attend. All students get free attendance, complimentary catered dinner, and complimentary beer and wine (21+ only). Employers in the region have been itching to see students again after the pandemic put a halt on things.

If you’re interested in presenting or have any other questions, please email me at rkhitch@uw.edu
