Ambassador Leadership Program

The UW LSAMP STEM Student Ambassador Leadership Program is an initiative in our NSF Grant that fulfills the training and development of Underrepresented Students (URM) pursuing STEM degrees. This year long program is specifically designed for LSAMP Students interested in becoming leaders of the future in their respective STEM fields. Every quarter, the student focuses on leadership through the lens of academic, personal, and professional goals and projects they wish to achieve with the support and training of the LSAMP Staff.

They work closely and directly under the leadership of the LSAMP Program Coordinator and Director. This is not a job position, but a learning experience, driven by the goals and interest of the student. Students engage in and lead workshops and activities that enhance their growth and development. They participate in mentoring, community building, public speaking and networking opportunities across campus and industry partners in the community. At the end of the year, they have the opportunity to continue being an ambassador and work on new goals and projects for the following year.
