RVSP now for NOAA Hollings Scholarship application workshops in January

Students,

We are hosting workshops this coming Winter Quarter on January 9th and January 23rd at 4:30 pm in FSH 203 for any UW students planning on applying to the NOAA Hollings Scholarship. The upcoming workshop sessions will be structured around applicants being paired with graduate student mentors to receive multiple rounds of feedback on the written components of the application, as well as help with filling out the rest of the application form. As such, applicants are expected to attend both workshops. These workshops will be limited to students actively applying for the NOAA Hollings Scholarship, so you should be in your 2nd year out of a 4 year degree.

If you are interested, please RSVP using this form. Please note that participation in this workshop requires some prep work ahead of our first workshop. Specifically, you must email the first draft of your responses to the prompts to Emily (ebish@uw.edu) and Markus (mmin@uw.edu) no later than Friday, January 5th. Additionally, you should make sure to review the information from our Hollings-related sessions this fall (the scholarship info session, letters of recommendation workshop, and writing statements workshop). If you missed any of those sessions, you can find the slides here.

Please contact Emily or Markus if you can’t make the workshop times but still would like feedback on your application, or if you have any other questions or concerns!

Markus Min, SAFS Graduate Student and  ’17 Hollings Alum (mmin@uw.edu)

Emily Bishop, SAFS Graduate Student and ’13 Hollings Alum (ebish@uw.edu)
