Environmental Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a staff engineer to fill a full-time position in our Olympia, WA office. Responsibilities include project management, conducting Feasibility Study/Corrective Measure Study evaluations at hazardous waste, designing remedial systems, preparing reports and work plans, conducting fieldwork, and completing engineering evaluations. Typical projects include investigation and remediation of sites with soil, sediments, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor and/or indoor air impacted by chlorinated solvents, pesticides, petroleum, hydrocarbons, metals, and other contaminants. Typical field activities include field engineering, construction oversight, cost estimating, developing engineering design documents including drawings, specifications, and calculations.

Minimum requirements include:

• Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and project management skills
• B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
• E.I.T. (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills, proven ability to complete wide variety of tasks independently
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification

Ideal candidate would also have:

• M.S. in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
• Private sector consulting experience
• Cleanup experience at CERCLA, RCRA, and/or MTCA sites (including hands – on experience with groundwater remediation systems and groundwater monitoring)
• Knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, and MTCA regulations
• Experience in performing treatability studies
• Significant field work experience
• PE in Washington, Oregon, or California

Salary: From $85,000.00 per year
