Hi all,
Each year the Beavers, a heavy civil construction group, host a great tour of a really cool construction project. This year it is in Kirkland on the I-405/NE 85th St. interchange project. This is a $234 million project that will create a 3-level interchange with a unique mid-level multimodal hub for bus rapid transit, carpoolers, bike riders, pedestrians, and express lane users. This project is being built by Graham Contracting, who are also building a number of other projects in the area. The mid-level multimodal hub is really a cool concept (you can see it envisioned here).
