Engineering Research Abroad: New Programs

Hong Kong Science and Technology Summer Research Program: HKUST is a longstanding exchange partner of the College. Now, parallel to their summer exchange course offerings, they have created a STEM research track that places students with a project supervisor for 8 weeks.

  • 5 credits
  • 2025 projects currently listed may be suitable for: AA, CSE, ECE, ME
  • Students must have completed at least 2 years of study by the start of the program
  • Deadline 1/15/25

Arcadia Abroad Strathclyde Summer STEM Research Program: Arcadia University facilitates STEM research placements at various universities in English-speaking countries. The University of Strathclyde is located in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland.

  • 9 credits
  • 2025 projects currently listed may be suitable for: ChemE, CivE, CSE, EnvE, ME, others
  • No class standing requirement, but a 2.8 GPA is required
  • PRIORITY deadline 12/15/24

Arcadia Abroad KCL Summer Biomedical Research Program: King’s College London is located along the River Thames in London. Similarly to Strathclyde and HKUST, applicants will be matched to a specific project at the university.

  • 9 credits
  • 2025 projects currently listed may be suitable for: BioE, ChemE, ME, or others interested in the biomedical applications of engineering
  • No class standing requirement, but a 3.3 GPA is required
  • PRIORITY deadline 12/15/24

Note that for all three of these programs, some 2025 projects are still being finalized. More will likely be added through the month.

You should always discuss project choices with an academic adviser to determine suitability. Additional prerequisites may apply to certain projects.
