Please see below for remaining/upcoming study abroad info sessions open to students in all engineering majors. Some sessions are happening as soon as today!

SUMMER A 2025 – Engineering Spain: Manufacturing Systems and Analytics (IND E 337, IND E 315)

“Designed for students who want to do a Summer A term in Spain while fulfilling a Writing credit.  While ISE students will be fulfilling the INDE 315 and 337 requirements in Leon, Spain, other Engineering students can request permission to use this course to fulfill a technical elective. Students in this program will tour manufacturing facilities in and near Leon, Spain. Students will get to see first-hand the manufacturing principles taught in class.

SUMMER A 2025 – Engineering Japan: Exploring in the Heart of High-Tech (ENGR 296)

“Designed for freshmen and sophomores majoring in science and engineering (STEM) fields. Students will be given insight into the needs of world society based on advanced science and technology of the future. The program will offer cutting-edge classes in next-generation science and engineering with a focus on contributing to society through research.”

SUMMER B 2025 – Engineering Switzerland: Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (EE 215, EE 398, and ENGR 496)

“Located in the center of Europe, Switzerland is famous for its tradition of precision and quality in engineering. In this program, students will get a first-hand look at the history of Swiss engineering and how it has helped this small nation to become a leader in high-tech research and engineering developments. With excursions to the CERN facility in nearby Geneva, cheese and chocolate tours in Gruyères and Broc, and a weekend at the Matterhorn in Zermatt, students will have the opportunity to explore the country and culture of Switzerland all while fulfilling a UW engineering core course.”

WINTER QUARTER 2026 Engineering India: Grand Challenges Impact Lab (GCIL)  (EE 399)

“Grand Challenges (GCs) are the big problems facing humanity — things like food security, clean energy, and poverty. The Grand Challenge Impact Lab (UW-GCIL) is a UW study abroad experience that empowers students to address GCs. An interdisciplinary experience that allows a cohort of UW students to investigate social solutions, develop a practical approach, and propose your plan to NGOs at the end of the quarter.”
