Hello,
The Program on Climate Change is eager to get the word out about two initiatives that connect undergraduates to climate science.
The Climate Science Minor provides a structured approach to understanding interdisciplinary climate.

Interested in interdisciplinary learning, connecting with peers, and finding access to opportunities in climate science? The Program on Climate Change can help!
-
- Join the PCC Undergraduate Climate Cohort (UCo) to connect with professional development resources, experts in the field of climate science, and fellow climate-minded undergraduates from across the college. More information here: https://pcc.uw.edu/research/undergraduate-climate-cohort/
- Join the Climate Undergraduates listserve to receive emails relevant to undergrads interested in working on the climate: https://mailman12.u.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/climateminor
- Enroll in the Climate Science Minor. For those seeking a personalizable, interdisciplinary, educational program that broadens both skills and understandings around climate science. Students are encouraged to meet with the Climate Science Minor Advisor, Miriam Bertram, for course planning because:
- Each year there are new courses offered across the UW that can be used to satisfy the requirements. Older courses are no longer available. The advisor can help you sort these out.
- You should take ESS 201 or ATM S 211 as soon as possible, preferably in your freshman or sophomore years
- Once you take ESS 201 or ATM S 211 you can take the capstone course, ATM S/ESS/OCEAN 475 which is offered once a year, next offering is Spring 2024.
