As an Environmental Engineer in the Army you would advise on or performs professional and scientific work utilizing engineering principles and practices to protect health and the environment. Duties include the assessment of existing and proposed weapons, equipment, clothing, training devices, and materiel systems. Activities relate to the design and formulation of recommendations to preserve and enhance health and environmental conditions including: air, water, noise, liquid and solid waste disposal, and institutional hygiene.

Your specialized skills as an Environmental Engineer will be highly valued by our Soldiers and their families. There are a plethora of leadership positions that you would fill by serving. Listed below are a few requirements needed to apply:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Less than 42 years of age
  • At least a 3.0 GPA
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree from a school accredited by the ABET with a major in one of the following fields:  (1) Environmental Engineering* (2) Civil Engineering* (3) Industrial Engineering (4) Chemical Engineering* (5) Safety Engineering (6) Environmental Health Engineering* (7) Geological Engineering
