Below you will find details about the CEE 498 Special Topics courses to be offered in AUT19. These courses (up to 6 credits) can satisfy your non-core Technical Electives or Upper Division Engineering & Science Electives. If you are attempting to use more than 6 credits of CEE 498, you will need to submit a graduation petition.

Design & Construction of Temporary Structures (3cr)

- Course Description: Introduces structural design and construction process associated with temporary structures. Strong emphasis on form and false work structures for elements of a concrete girder bridge. Covers software tools available for design and analysis, basic wood design concepts, typical form work connections and accessories, and interpretation of specifications and plan drawings.
Roadway Geometric Design (3cr)

- Course Description: Roadway geometric design techniques with emphasis on software application. Overview of concepts and tools needed to develop roadway design elements including horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, sections, assemblies, cut/fill slope conditions and earthwork evaluation parameters. Uses national design standards and AutoCAD Civil 3D software to develop a 3D model for a roadway corridor and generate earthwork and material volume reports.
