Dr. Somnath Mookherjee
Dr. Somnath Mookherjee is a professor of medicine at the University of Washington; his clinical practice is in perioperative medicine and internal medicine consultation. In addition to his role as Colleges mentor, Dr. Mookherjee is Director of the University of Washington School of Medicine’s Center for Learning and Innovation in Medical Education (CLIME).
Dr. Mookherjee’s scholarly work focuses on optimizing clinical teaching. He has published research on peer feedback of teaching, physical examination education, and other aspects of medical education. He is co-editor of the Handbook of Clinical Teaching, The Perioperative Medicine Consult Handbook and Chalk Talks in Internal Medicine: Scripts for Clinical Teaching.
Dr. Mookherjee completed his training in internal medicine at the University of Washington in 2007. He went to the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) where he completed an academic hospital medicine fellowship and the Teaching Scholars Program. He returned to the University of Washington in 2012 to rejoin the Division of General Internal Medicine. In his free time, he is most interested in spending time traveling with his wife and two boys. Other interests include vexillology, travel-related graphic design, and Indian history.
