Dr. Alson Burke
Dr. Alson Burke. While Alson was born in “the other Washington”, she grew up in Seattle, and as much as she has escaped for brief stints, she continues to be drawn back to the PNW. Taking a non-traditional route to medical school, Alson worked as a middle school lacrosse coach, mentor and teacher, ski instructor and bicycle tour guide prior to medical school. She was lucky to spend her first year at UWSOM in Bozeman and the remainder of her UW education throughout WWAMI. She couples matched with her husband to UCSD and after 4 years in southern California, they were back.
Alson’s DC roots remain strong as she is active in reproductive healthcare advocacy in Washington State and nationally with ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists). She is also grateful to spend her clinical time at Harborview caring for obstetrics and gynecology patients. Alson also finds great joy in the time she spends with medical students both in the pre-clinical and clerkship years. In her free time, Alson can be found enjoying the outdoors with her family, or at home, baking with her daughters.
