Dr. Dave Otten
Dr. Otten was originally raised in a small town in Colorado. He completed his undergraduate training in Fort Collins before moving to Denver to begin medical school at the University of Colorado. He then went on to complete a residency in Emergency Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center. He enjoys the diverse patient population and breadth of pathology that he is able to care for in the emergency department.
In 2016, he moved to Alaska and served four years as an Active Duty officer in the US Air Force. He had many unique experiences in military medicine, traveling to many austere locations throughout the South Pacific for deployments and various training opportunities.
He and his family fell in love with Alaska and the outdoor experiences it has to offer. Upon separating from the Air Force in 2020, they knew they would be unable to match the fishing and other wilderness opportunities Alaska provides, so they were thrilled to accept a job opportunity to stay in Anchorage.
Dave Otten and his wife, Gwen, are the parents of four children. He now works as an emergency physician at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
