This campus wide award honors staff members who create a world of good through their hard work, dedication and selfless spirit. This years’ nominees attended the reception on February 23, 2017. Allison Shults is the new Admissions and Recruitment Specialist in the MSIS Program. She comes to us from Dominican University of California where she worked as a graduate admissions counselor. Allison is a recent graduate of Park University, earning a Master of Arts in Communication and Leadership. She brings more than three years of experience working in higher education. |

On Saturday March 11, 2017 the Foster School of Business – Master of Science in Information Systems Program, in partnership with REI, hosted its 2nd annual Case Competition. For the five teams that competed, the competition provided great experience to test their ability to apply information systems solutions to a real-world business problem. Congrats to the winning team – Karthik Junnuri, Tianjiao Liu, and Pradyumna Reddy! Huge thanks to REI executives Julie Averill, Mark Seidl, Sathya Venkatapathy, and Vaidyanathan Seshan for judging this year’s competition and engaging with our students! The case competition, offered annually, serves as a capstone experience for students in the MSIS program. |
MSCM PROGRAM
| MSCM brought 2016 to a close with guest speaker Ann Ardizzone, advisory board member and VP of Supply Chain at Alaska Airlines. In February, several students were selected to attend the Oracle Future Supply Chain Leaders Program in San Jose, CA. Students put their knowledge to the test and competed with peers in the Littlefield Technologies supply chain simulation. Professor Yong-Pin Zhou and MSCM program director Sara Jones led the first-ever Foster Supply Chain Tour. Students traveled to Hong Kong and Vietnam to learn about the opportunities and challenges faced by supply chain professionals operating in a global environment. | January 21, 2017 | The OSCM club took part of the Seattle World School (SWS) Volunteer Day. The SWS volunteer day focus is to empower students as self, global advocates in our rapidly changing world. |
| March 1, 2017 | Hosted a Boeing panel discussion that covered the basics of operations and supply chain management as well as careers at Boeing. Guest speakers included Dave Poplawski – Supplier Management Engineering, Jason Jarisch – Supply Chain Logistics Manager, Jared Farmer – former Supply Chain Specialist, David Selover – Supply Chain Analyst intern, Rose Zhan – Supplier Quality Regulatory Affairs intern, and Amanda Ellinghaus – incoming Boeing Intern. |
