Who are You?

I’d love to hear in the comments section. The people who could benefit from this course are diverse. Primarily it is aimed at anybody who needs a means to get some light exercise and needs to get their proverbial blood going, people who work at a desk, maybe at home, for longer than desirable stretches (for me that’s anything over an hour or two at a time). It’s conceived with small living spaces in mind, certainly the pandemic has shifted lifestyles and living/working/studying situations seismically. It’s also meant to provide a low/no budget solution to exercise and provide access to all its mental, physical and emotional benefits.

The uses ARE infinite though. From sedentary meditation exercises to high intensity workouts, the “toning ball” is already used in physical therapy, pilates and elsewhere, and as the name states, simply holding it provides ‘toning’ benefits throughout the body. My father is pushing 90 and needed an alternative to swimming during the pandemic and has fully integrated several 15 minute workouts into his week.

Who am I?

Like my father, I began this when I couldn’t swim, due to a knee injury. I began using a medicine ball to try and get an aerobic workout using the upper body. I had been attempting to play water polo at the time and was interested in the throwing moves swimmers perform while treading water in that sport. That experience rekindled my interest in juggling. In college I had also taken a proverbial ‘basket weaving course’ called Zen Juggling. That course gave me a wider perspective on that activity, for sure, and, in hindsight, a wider one on life. I am also a movie maker and instructional designer. Click here for more information about me.
