May 2024: A guided tour of cutting-edge CSS you can use now

What: Front-End Technologies Community of Practice Meeting
Topic: A guided tour of cutting-edge CSS you can use now
When: Tuesday, May 21, 2:00 – 2:50 p.m.

Inspired by an article titled “5 CSS snippets every front-end developer should know in 2024”, front-end web developer Teri Shelton and designer Andy Krikawa will walk us through some exciting CSS features now available in most browsers.

From subgrid to container queries and :has() to color-scheme, we’ll quickly explore roughly fifteen of these features demonstrating how they work and some ideas on use cases. It’ll be like a guided tour of favorite sites: stop, look at the view, ask a question, hop back on the bus.

While the core content of the meeting will fall within the 2 to 2:50 p.m. meeting time, our presenters and meeting organizers will stick around until 3:15 p.m. for questions and discussion.
