Andres Barria, PhD

Professor
Physiology and Biophysics

Research Interests: Synaptic physiology of excitatory neurotransmission
Primary
Methodologies:
Electrophysiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, fluorescence imaging
Work Summary: Using molecular and cellular techniques, along with advanced imaging and electrophysiology, we try to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that a) trigger formation of glutamatergic synapses and stabilize them, b) control the level of synaptic plasticity, and c) regulates ionotropics glutamate receptors.
