Dave Marcinek and Jessica Young host the 31st Annual NIA Summer Training Course in Experimental Aging Research

This course provided intense exposure to current concepts in experimental aging research and feedback on grant and project development to 20 early career research scientists to facilitate development of independent research programs in the basic biology of aging. The curriculum will included: 1) overview lectures on important topics in modern aging research; ii) development workshops where trainees presented a research proposal to receive critical feedback by experienced workshop faculty; iii) faculty research talks and topics focused on mentoring and career development. Faculty for the 2024 course include leading scientists in the aging and longevity research community. This course rotates between the UW, Buck Institute and Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation is supported by an R13 from the NIA and sponsorship from the Glenn Foundation for Medical Research.
