Expired SubstancesA shoutout to everyone that has completed the Expired Substances lesson. A couple of weeks ago you received notice about this new mandatory training. All members of the animal care program were enrolled and provided 4 weeks to complete this lesson. Failure to complete this training will result in removal from the protocol and/or facility access. Approximately 50% of those enrolled have not completed this 7-minute lesson. There is still time before the deadline though! Complete the lesson this week (deadlines range between November 5-9th, depending on date of enrollment). You can check your completion record on the Bridge Learning Management System. You can download and print a sign or order one from OAW for your lab; “Always Check Expiration Dates.” |
Updated Anesthesia Certification PolicyThe IACUC recently reviewed and updated their Policy on Anesthesia Certification Requirements. Updates include expanding the policy to include birds, clarifying requirements for USDA-regulated rodents, and expanding definitions. If your animal use protocol involves provision of anesthesia, please review the IACUC Policy. If you have any questions about the policy, contact clatr@uw.edu. |

Protocol Team Clean-UpIt’s perfect weather for a bit of fall cleaning. Take a few minutes this month to review your Protocol Team Members in HoverBoard. Do you have any new lab members that need to be added to your protocol? Has anybody left your lab that needs to be removed? Personnel can be added or removed from your protocol by submitting an Amendment and updating the Protocol Team Members page, as well as (in the case of new personnel) the Personnel Procedure Assignment page. This is also a good time to review the Primary Contact and PI Proxies that are assigned in your protocol workspace. The Primary Contact is the main person, other than the PI, that we will reach out to for anything related to your protocol. PI Proxies are individuals with the ability to submit protocol items and responses in HoverBoard. These can be updated by the PI or current PI Proxies using actions available on the left side of the protocol workspace. |
