Inaugural Commemoration – SAVE THE DATEPlease join Dare 2 Care for our Inaugural Commemoration and Memorial Dedication event! We want to recognize both the research animals and the lab animal science community that together help to advance human and animal health and well-being. The event will take place Wednesday, August 23rd at the Vista Cafe in the Foege Building. Doors will open at 10:45a.m. and the keynote presentation by Dr. Arnold Arluke will begin at 11:00a.m. The D2C Memorial Dedication will then commence at 12:15p.m. followed by a reception. Complimentary light refreshments will be provided. This event will also be offered via Zoom. |

Please review and ensure your practices are in line with the current policies. Any deviations from an IACUC policy must be approved in your protocol. Social Housing ExceptionsIt is the expectation of DCM, WaNPRC, and the IACUC that social species are housed socially. Singly housed animals often require additional environmental enrichment. For example, singly housed mice must be given two enrichment items in their cage. Typically, this is a nestlet and a condiment cup. Refer to the species-specific Environmental Enrichment SOPs for information about social housing requirements. |

Safely Store Compressed Gases and CryogensCompressed gases and cryogenic liquids are stored in gas cylinders under high pressure, which can have several safety considerations to prevent injury and property damage. University units and departments with compressed gases and cryogens, including liquid nitrogen, are required to follow regulations for safe storage of gas cylinders and Dewars. |
