D2C Appreciation Lunches
The D2C would like to recognize and thank our Animal Care Staff and Vet Staff for their contributions and exemplary resiliency while our community has struggled with the COVID-19 pandemic.
D2C and UW Leadership have seen how dedicated you are to your job and how you have consistently shown up to work to care for your animals and support critical research. The emotional toll that the pandemic has taken is apparent and we recognize your determination and dedication.
Local restaurants, The London Plane and Ba Bar, in partnership with the Seattle Science Foundation, acknowledged the important work that you do every day taking care of the animals and supporting the research, by providing over 365 appreciation lunches in your honor.
Thank you for being you and going above and beyond to do your job during such a challenging time. For more information about this story, please check out their website at Dare 2 Care.

Do you need to obtain blood samples from mice?

As with all procedures and techniques, it must be specified in your approved protocol.

Animal Use Training (AUTS) Program Update: In-Person Registration Forms

We still have the traditional forms for non-UW researchers needing to register for the classes.
Environmental Health & Safety
Managing Laboratory Chemicals-Online Course. New and improved. Faculty, staff and students who work in labs where chemicals are present are required to repeat this training every three years.
Change your mask before leaving the lab. The UW’s existing face covering policy remains in effect.
If you are working with infectious agents, hazardous chemicals or radiological materials in the lab while wearing a cloth face covering, it could become contaminated during the course of your work and you may not even know it. You should not wear a potentially contaminated mask outside the lab.
