Library Accounts
Getting an Account
To get a library account and begin borrowing items, patrons must complete the application and create an account with our library management system, Librarika.
Application
Patrons may complete the library account application in person or on our website. You will be asked to provide the following information:
- First and last name as it appears on your HuskyID or UW employee ID; learn how to put your preferred name on your UW ID here
- Preferred name, if any
- UW email address
- UW affiliation (student, staff, or faculty)
- Expected graduation year and quarter, if applicable
- Phone number (optional)
Creating Your Account
After your application is approved and processed, you will receive an email from Librarika inviting you to join our library and create an account. Complete this process to begin borrowing items.
Using Your Account
With your Librarika account, you can begin checking out items from the library. Log in to view current and past checkouts, or search our online catalog. The library is not allowing holds at this time. Do not place holds on Librarika; they will not be honored.
You will not receive a physical library card, but your account will be active. When you check out items from the library, Q Center staff will ask you to present your HuskyID or UW employee ID to verify your identity and look up your account by name or number. For data security reasons, you must present your UW-issued ID to check out items from the library.
You may not share your library account with other patrons. Current UW students, staff, and faculty are welcome to create their own library account.
Patrons with overdue items or unresolved fines will not be allowed to check out items until the items are returned, fines are paid, or the issue is addressed with the Q Center librarian.
